The Emerging Leaders Institute was founded to prepare matriculants for higher education; assist first-time job seekers for the job market; provide entrepreneurs with opportunities to start their businesses and inspire emerging leaders to pursue their God-given passion!
Although the ELI Personal Development Course is primarily aimed at youth aged 18 to 35 years; it attracts applicants beyond its target market. Graduates include university students, an industrial psychologist, an attorney, management consultants, ministers of religion, sales executives, a traditional doctor, ex combatants and homemakers. They all have one thing in common - the intrinsic desire to reshape their self-esteem; communicate effectively; set achievable goals; release more hidden potential, and to market themselves as unique individuals!
From a psychological perspective, it is accepted that negative remarks, repeated by figureheads over a prolonged period can have damaging effects on the personality make-up of any individual. The result? A poor self-image, an inferiority complex, lack of confidence, under-utilization of one’s potential, poor communication skills, inability to plan and set achievable goals, and the constant search for external validation! Regrettably, this leads to the depreciation of the individual’s human dignity!
